Experience a spiritual journey through the Whirling Dervish Ceremony — a doctrine within the Sufi tradition derived from the teachings of 13th century mystic and poet Mevlana Celaleddin Rumi.
The Sema ceremony is a form of worship, meditation, and connection with the divine. Watch as dervishes in white robes spin in flowing, symbolic motions accompanied by hauntingly beautiful Sufi music featuring the ney (flute) and oud. Their right hand faces upward to receive blessings, their left hand turned downward to share those blessings with humanity.
